Astna and Jif’s wedding was the kind of event that makes you question whether you’ve been attending the wrong kind of weddings your whole life. Equal parts heartfelt, chaotic, and stylish, it was a celebration powered by raw emotion, excellent taste, and what one can only assume was industrial-strength caf(ok)eine. From the moment we captured their opera house wedding photos, it was clear: this was not going to be your average beige buffet of a wedding.

We began with a pre-wedding shoot at Lavender Bay on one of those suspiciously perfect spring afternoons. Astna arrived ready to star in her own romantic comedy—complete with dramatic laughs, spontaneous posing, and the kind of energy that can only be described as “main character with excellent lighting.” Jif, meanwhile, was the calm counterweight to Astna’s dazzling whirlwind. He radiated quiet confidence, as if being calmly photogenic in every frame was simply his default state. And apparently, it is.

Then came the wedding day. The Museum of Contemporary Art hosted the ceremony—because of course it did—and the couple looked every bit the modern classic. Naturally, we made our way to the Opera House for a photoshoot that would make a tourism ad jealous. The opera house wedding photos had everything: wind, drama, architecture, and one excellent veil moment that deserved its own slow-motion playback.

The evening transitioned smoothly to the Sheraton Hotel for a reception that was part dinner, part dance-off, and part unofficial roast. There were heartfelt speeches, a moving tribute to Jif’s late father that brought the room to a respectful pause, and then—just as quickly—back to the electric vibe of the dance floor. Guests danced like no one was watching (although I definitely was), and the cake didn’t stand a chance.

In conclusion: 10/10. Would photograph again.
