What really transpired when I asked Vivashni to pull a Sabyasachi bride lookLove me a bit of shadowplay!My favourite shot from their milni at Le Montage. I’d sat on the floor photographing upwards hoping that one of the guests would lift the other as is normal tradition. I got pretty lucky here.This was one of my favourite moments from their wedding. Vivashni had a beaming smile for the entire duration of her walk down the aisle and right at the end, Neil teared up a bit..I was also so chuffed to see a female priestess conduct the wedding. This was the first Indian wedding that I’d seen have one and I felt very privileged to be present to document it. Full power to her!Nothing could wipe the smiles of their faces on the dayI usually encourage bridesmaids to always ask for juthi (shoe) money in the 1000s. That way they are negotiated down to the high 100s and I can walk away with a 5% commission. Okay that’s how I wish it’d play out.. never has happened .. yetVivashni’s spectrum of emotions from her vidai inside the venue……. to her exit outside showcased her range spectacularly 🙂These guys were super generous with their time allocated for portraits and when that happens, it gives us the time to spot magic such as this.Does this man ever not look dapper?
INDIAN WEDDING RECEPTION AT FOUR SEASONS SYDNEY
Been wanting to create a crowd motion blur shot for a while now. Sprang upon the opportunity at the Sunday markets at The RocksI’d suggested to Vivashni after her ceremony that she wear sneakers to her reception so she’d be comfortable and be able to tear that dance floor up. What does she do? Go and get herself a pair of Gucci sneakers. YOU GO GIRL!It was my first time capturing a wedding at the four seasons hotel and I was blown away with how they’d transformed a corporate ballroom into a fairytale like wedding reception venueWe played a same day edit right before their bridal waltz and this was their reaction. Can I just add here that Four Seasons has the best projector there is at a wedding venue in Sydney. Full Stop.As you can tell, their dance floor was OFF THE CHARTS! The venue had been booked till 11.30pm but it always helps when you got groomsmen who can double up as Dhol players. These guys had an outrageous party and I was just glad to be party to it.
